Griffin Toronjo Pivateau (J.D., University of Texas) is the Puterbaugh Professor of Legal Studies and Ethics at Oklahoma State University Spears School of Business. His research explores employment law and its impact on business environment. His work addresses issues of worker classification, employee mobility, and dispute resolution. His article on the "blue pencil doctrine" has been cited with approval by three State Supreme Courts, as well as a host of other state and federal courts.

My research examines the ability of the law to affect the business environment. Within this focus area, I have followed three related research streams: employer-employee relationships, dispute resolution mechanisms, and restrictions on employee mobility.
